Hi everyone,

I'm having trouble using a VAT calculator for my small business. When I input my net price, the calculator shows the total including VAT, but I'm unsure how it calculates the VAT amount itself. For example, if the net price is $100 and the VAT rate is 20%, the total should be $120. But how do I figure out the exact VAT amount? Is there a specific formula I should be using? Any guidance or recommended online tools would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi there,

I can help with that! To calculate the VAT amount, you can use a simple formula:

VAT Amount = Net Price × VAT Rate

For your example, with a net price of $100 and a VAT rate of 20%:

  • VAT Amount = $100 × 0.20 = $20

The total price including VAT is then:

  • Total Price = Net Price + VAT Amount
  • Total Price = $100 + $20 = $120

So, the VAT amount is $20. You can also find many online VAT calculators by searching "VAT calculator" on your preferred search engine. These tools can simplify the process for you. or you can check  vatcalculatorg.com
